The UMS 20 edition will totally happen. I wonder what we will get on it this time around. I feel like the Let Go 20 was too rushed. Now they had the time to plan things better, and they already know how to navigate the process too. Too busy planning the summer tour with MGK Well now she got no friends or boyfriend to distract her so she’s all set.

I just think if she has a sort of summer tour in summer, music should come before it. Probably Feb-March, album May-June

Maybe her plan is different. Maybe she plans to release a Greatest Hits along with a new single to promote it and goes on festival tour. Then New Album in the fall with the official tour the following year. whoknows.mp3

Her This is...Avril Lavigne is already that But like, it's Avril she's so out of sync that is not impossible to be the case

Yea greatest hits aren’t really a thing anymore - you can just make a playlist.
I hope we hear some new soon. It’s been so quiet.
Also interesting that she followed 2 country music artists. I really think the new album will have some country music influence which is exciting.

Hey y'all! I wasn't expecting anything related to UMS20, but I just checked the forum and you all filled me with so much hope. At the same time, I'm thinking it might be a commemoration similar to the LG20. Maybe just an anniversary edition or something like that? UMS turns 20 in May, and she has new concerts lined up for June. Would she start a new tour - I'm considering these concerts as part of a "Festivals Tour" - without dropping new material? What are your thoughts?
My expectation relies on the idea of Avril releasing new stuff (at least a single) before she kicks off the new tour.

Also, maybe I'm just living on Clowneria Street as the other guy from the previous posts, but I think there's a chance she's trying a different strategy this time around. During the last album cycle, she focused heavily on boosting her algorithms with posts and appealing pics and videos. Perhaps now she's intentionally staying a bit out of the scene to avoid drawing too much attention before the new era. She didn't even promote "Fake As Hell" as much as "Flames" - thank God, because this song didn't resonate with me as much.
This type of strategy is not uncommon. Even big artists like Taylor used this a lot.
BTW: sorry for the 2 posts in-a-row. It's been a while since I last posted here. Wish you all an amazing year.

I think if there is any UMS anniversary it will be similar to LG, remastered original tracks plus some B-sides, probably mostly ones that were released already. She otherwise didn’t do much promotion for it, it’s just a thing for streaming for fans.
I don’t think she will drop new music at the same time only because then they’d be like competing. I think we’ll get a single before the festivals but album will probably come later this year. The festivals might just be a way for her to get herself out there again before putting out new music, then once the album drops she will do a proper tour. The festivals are not contingent on her putting out new music when you consider she mostly performs singles. I think she’ll have 1-2 new songs to perform and then she’ll do her classics.

I agree. Perhaps she'll remaster the UMS music videos, the album, add some new songs and call it a day. My expections are not that high. I'd expect at least a single before this year's tour. Not sure about a whole album, but to me it doesn't sound THAT impossible to have it before the concerts - especially considering that even during her "new album-dedicated tours" she barely performs the new songs. LS Tour was def like a "Singles Collection Tour" + 2 or luckily 3 new non-singles of the new album. But I wouldn't underestimate the impact of Festival Tours. That's what P!nk did back in the day when she was just an opening act for 'NSYNC, before she became a touring force. It has also played a major role more recently in Lana Del Rey's career and her most recent tour is hitting bigger venues than the ones she was used to before playing in a bunch of Festivals. Of course, there's just a small chance Avril would experience similar effects. What makes me optimistic is that she's now focusing more on her career/career strategies and connecting with her fans!

I think that works and makes sense cuz think about it she performs a new song or 2, people are it interested and hopefully not long during or after the festival run she releases the album and a lot of people who were at the festival are interested and listen to the album it’s a good strategy

Fake as Hell is not bad, just the same identical song heard over and over again. Forgettable.
I don't really care what kind of strategy she decides to follow for this album, what really matters to me is the production and the songwriting. She can promote it the best she can and it can reach #1 Billboard but if all the songs will sound like "Be my rockstar, I'll be your rockstar, I love you, I hate you".. it won't resonate with me much and in the long run it won't be a favourite of mine.
At the moment, tbh, I'm sure it will be very very similar to Love Sux and it's the first time in 20 years I don't feel the hype for a new record of hers, it could come out in some months or next year, I can live peacefully atm.
