[ALBUM] AL8 Speculation Thread

I loved the way she looked/dressed during the Head above water era. I hope she goes back to that more natural style for the new album.

Heavily Disagree the streaks has always been her signature thing like that screams Avril Lavigne to me so i love it and wouldnt care if she did it again 

Also honestly maybe if it is a darker mooder album she wont have a signature streak. Who knows i mena she didnt with HAW and self titled as far as i remember. (someone correct me if im wrong) I get why she did with LS tho it was back to basis and fun album so if she does it awesome if she doesnt do it thats cool too. 

I think it's ok if Avril focuses on both music and image, I mean the image does go along with the music and in pop music especially image is something people pay just as much attention to, if not more. Her fashion is part of her brand and a signature part of what made her early albums memorable, I mean I don't think Let Go would have taken off in quite the same way if not for her skater girl look. Girls everywhere copied that tie look and the same thing with the pink hair streaks.

I'm up for her doing colored streaks again if it seems like it'd fit with whatever the vibe/mood/image of the album is. With AL5, she was probably just tired of it or seemed uninspired in general with her image then. The album had no direction so it would have been tricky to figure out what look could have encompassed everything. And HAW it was best to leave her hair natural to emphasize the "raw, vulnerable, back to my roots" vibe that album had. But she has otherwise experimented with her hair every era since UMS. I think she does enjoy changing up stuff with her hair since she gets bored of things easily, but she is not really as willing to experiment with different cuts/styles or length, unless it's a wig for a random photoshoot or something. As we were just saying, she loves her extensions and long hair. So color is mainly how she seems to change it up.

The streaks just come across as tween and old fashioned at this point. I wish she’d modernize her look. Every year that does by I keep listening to new music and she keeps dating herself. Ditch the pop-punk, ditch the hair color, and get a new stylist. It think it’s important to stay young and individualistic, but it’s also not so bad to mature either. It’s baffling to me that a 19 year old Avril took her music more seriously than at 39.

Yeah agree re a more mature look. She can still be her but make it less teenage. Her look runs the risk of looking a bit of a parody of herself at times.

me personally i don't have any problem with the "braid concept" itself it's just it looked freaking ugly during HAW 😭😭 most of the times it was extension braids and it was a lot longer than her hair like wth, it just looked out of place.

She looked 100 times better during the Maxim 2010 look where she also had some braids in there. Messy, rockier, but chick and a little bit emo. I loved her hair durin 2009-2010. Her combination of brown and blonde looked stunning.

HAW era.... it's just that Lauren needed to learn her profession jeez.
