Unfortunately all Avril's audios (and other artists too) have been removed this morning from Tik Tok. I hope people who found out about NH still stream the song.

I heard recently that UMG decided to remove all their artists’ catalogs from TikTok, that includes artists like Taylor and Ariana. They were not happy with what TikTok was willing to pay for the licenses or something. But Avril is not under UMG right? Is it Warner? I wonder if something similar happened where they didn’t like the terms and conditions TikTok was offering so they pulled the catalogs of all their artists.

After all the bans, political proceedings, and public scrutiny that TikTok has gone through in the past couple years, it would be quite the curveball if the thing that is finally able to kill the app is just these record companies simply removing every song from the platform lol. Very unfortunate that this happened to Avril though in the midst of one of her songs going viral + an upcoming arena tour to promote. I know it sucks. Of course it happens right when she’s going viral lmao.

Previously it was just artists signed to universal, but now it’s also everyone who has a publishing deal with Universal or songs which were written with writers under Universal, the full list of artists can be seen here under ‘Our Artists and Writers’ www.umusicpub.com/us/Artists.aspx

She's so unlucky to have this happen exactly when she's going viral and shortly before her tour.
I hope the negotiations improve before the tour starts and her catalog gets back on TikTok. She'd benefit a LOT from it.
Also, talking about the next album: I'm not sure if I want a full country album. Maybe a country/pop-influenced album in the vein of Let Go would be fine. Perhaps 90% of her fanbase is composed of international fans who are not familiar with country music (apart from the US, Canada, and Australia fans). I don't know if they would relate to that, but at the same time, working with country writers could do wonders for her songwriting. Just imagine an album with good storytelling, vulnerable lyrics and more raw instruments...
That would be awesome!

I would like another album like Let Go. Every fan keeps saying “I want another UMS” or “I want another GL, stripped down and raw” but I never hear people saying they want another let go. But it would be perfect.
For another let go I mean an album with some classic pop songs, country or country-inspired, some ballads and some rock (Losing Grip, Unwanted). It’s an album which has it all to please everyone’s taste but without making it confused like a crazy salad. Let Go works.
(Obviously I don’t mean a copy - I never like copies and that Avril is clearly gone! But a new, modern, more adult album in that style. I wouldn’t mind it)

Avril doesn't like Under my Skin at all and we can see it in her interviews during tbdt era. It was the album that she got less envolved in the process, made in 6months and probably lot of pressure from the record label to keep the success of Let Go.
I wanna hear new songs, not always the same 2.0 formula.

I'd say more than LG she got to work with Chantal at the time at her house and they were really close friends at the time. I think TBDT she was all around different and very excited about that era but I doubt she hates UMS.

I’m sorry but that’s NOT the case with UMS. She literally always said she was much more hands on with the creative process and writing , and the overall sound. She knew exactly what she wanted for that album and her label gave her total freedom. She even tried to push MHE as the lead single , which is the most mainstream song on the album, and played most of the tracks on either piano or guitar on her live shows. She actually loved UMS back in the day, but she was done with the darkness it entailed by the end of the tour and wanted to go for something lighter , and that’s where TBDT came in.
If anything, LG was that album that she almost had no creative input in,, which is fine because she was very young and still trying to figure things out. If anything, LG was the album that made her decide to go into a darker and more rock sound on the next one. In fact, she ditched LG for being too pop during the UMS era, and did the same with UMS for being too dark in the TBDT era, but you can tell she now cherishes that first album a lot and always speaks highly of it.
It’s very common for artists to compare their new work with its predecessor anyways, it’s not so much about how she “was over” an album and more about how that new album stood out and had its own identity.

Well i mean she was promoting her new album why would she be talking about her last album constantly? Avril almost never discus her previous work when talking about her current new album focus is on promoting the new album
