[ALBUM] AL8 Speculation Thread

She worked with Chad on the HAW album though and joined him onstage a couple times. They seem to be on good terms, I think it just didn’t work out for reasons unknown to us.

The songs Avril writes predominantly if not exclusively by herself are always the strongest, but I think like many of us she’s ADHD and probably thinks that process isn’t very fun, too challenging, and hard to stay motivated. I think she likes doing one or two an album to push herself, but she mostly wants to write with other people because it’s more fun for her. But typically that’s when the party songs come out. I don’t think she could be bothered to make artsy and sentimental songs all the time, which I get, but that apprehension usually results in lesser quality music which disappoints

I could see AL8 being like a TBDT 2.0 because that's really the only other album she's written when in a stable relationship, and she didn't include many songs on it actually about that relationship, she wrote about things she couldn't relate to at the time. I imagine it's because 1) she has a hard time with/doesn't like writing songs about being in love and 2) love songs may possibly fall too close to the "too personal" category. Although the back off of HAW was love songs so who knows. Then again, she straight up laughed and didn't know what to say about two of them lol. I think I Will Be is an incredibly underrated song of hers, and I wish she didn't give it away even though it's on TBDT deluxe/expanded edition. I'd always thought it was one of the few songs on TBDT written about her and Deryck's relationship, but then I think I read on here that she wrote it for Eragon (along with KHO and Won't Let You Go)? If we get love songs along the lines of I Will Be, Falling Fast, Stop Standing There, and Souvenir then I would like it. In other words, if she's going to write love songs then I want her to take it seriously -in some interviews, she's come across as putting love songs on an album for the sake of putting love songs on to balance it out with the breakup songs, without trying too hard because she doesn't like writing them.

People are making comparisons of Travis and that Bryan Kohberger lol… and now I can’t unsee it.
