Yes. I understand. It's my picture, video and writing files in 1 Drive I want to store on my D: Drive., Not applications or programs or apps or anything. Just those files. I have a 118 GB C: Drive and a 931 GB D: Drive. My C: Drive has about 43.3 BG's left and my D: Drive has 801 GB's on it. I have been able to store other music videos on and some files on D:. But I don't know how to store my 1 Drive files to it. When I try and add those files from 1 Drive it tells me I only have 43.3 GB's left and not enough space. But that's what's left on my C: drive, not my D: Drive. Okay. Open explorer. It's the icon on the taskbar that looks like a folder. Then open this PC. It's on the left hand side. That will show your D and D drives. One at a time, right click on the drive and then click properties. It will show you how much space is used and how much is available. There are also some utilities there. Let me know what you find. I have 130 GBs used space on my D: drive and 801 GBs space remaining, UB.

I'm thinking you might be doing something wrong. If it still doesn't work, try this... Create a new folder, in the C drive. Label it archive or transfer. Cut and paste all the files you want to move, and paste them into the new folder. Don't copy and paste. That's how you wind up with duplicate files. Once you have done that, try to copy and paste the entire folder to the D drive. If that works, you can then go back into the C drive and delete the folder I had you create. You then have to empty your recycle bin. Before you do that to all the files you want to move, try it with just a handful.

Hi, UB, I did what you said to do and I was able to transfer my files, but even after I deleted them on C: my C drive was low. I thought it was a problem with 1 Drive and I decided to remove it. I also have Pro Tools installed which takes up a lot of space, and I might have videos on C that I can remove. I did free up space but not a lot. I will have to look at my installed programs besides Pro Tools and see what's taking up so much space. Thanks for your help. My files are now on D, though, so I'm happy about that.

Great. I have some other ideas. I'll get back to you soon. Thanks so much, UB. I appreciate that. There are some utilities that you can download free that will help. I have some other ideas too. However, before you start downloading and running new software, there are some things you should learn how to do first. I'm not going to walk you through everything step by step. That would take too long, and these are things that every computer owner should know how to do anyway. 1. Learn how to create a restore point. Do a web search on the phrase "how to create a restore point in windows 10". Don't do it. Just learn how. We'll get back to that later 2. Type backup in the search box, to the right of the start button. Click on the best match. It should say Backup Settings. The first option will be, Back up using File History. If it's not on, turn it on. 3. In that same section, the second option will say "Looking for an older backup?" At the bottom of that section, it will say "Go to Backup and Restore (Windows 7)" Trust me. It's been the same since Windows 7. It's a link in blue. Click on it. If it says "Windows Backup has not been set up", there will be an option that says "Set up backup". Click on that. From there, it should be obvious what to do. If it's not, stop there and let me know. On the other hand, if Backup is already set up, you're done for now. Let me know and we'll continue, with other things you can do to speed up your computer.

Good morning, UB. Thanks so much. I have Windows Restore On and I have all my important files backed up, including to Flash Drives. I have to. They're too important not to have them backed up.

But, have you ever created a system image? That happens as part of setting up back up. Check your D drive. Let me know if you have folder that is named WindowsSystemImage. Also, have you ever manually set up a restore point? If you haven't done that, it's something you need to know how to do if I'm to move ahead with more recommendations, to free up space and make your computer faster.

Thanks. I understand. It happens to us all. I asked you about it because my laptop is really slowing down now and it's worrying me.
