OMG no, "Darlin"!!! It's one of Avril's best songs, so raw, so emotional, simple melody but wonderful instruments, great vocals, great lyrics that always give me strength and make me cry. There's really nothing negative I can say about this song. It deserves to be #1. "Freak Out" - meh. I love rock music, but I could never really get into this song. I find the lyrics kinda childish, the sound/mixing (?) is too loud somehow, Avril's voice is a little shrill or sth., and the song itself simply doesn't really go anywhere. It's just one straight, horizontal line. No real highlights. Meh. "Breakaway" is another song I don't like too much, at least not Avril's version. Like, I get it's just a demo, but Avril's voice sounds kind of... dunno, she sounds as though she's got a cold. And she just doesn't really seem into it. I totally get why she decided to give that song away. She said she didn't feel it. And I can totally hear that whenever I listen to her version. "Knockin' On Heaven's Door" is so beautiful, just Avril's voice, acoustic guitars, and some percussion. I really like the harmonies, too. And the song itself, of course, is simply fantastic. It deserves much better, too. "Get Over It" is another song that deserves to be at least in the top 10 imo. Everything about it is amazing. I totally love the instruments, especially the guitars and the cello. Avril's vocals are another thing that really needs mentioning: so emotional, you can really hear her frustration, anger, and disappointment in the chorus. And with just 17 or so (dunno how old exactly she was when she recorded it). Wow! "Won't Let You Go" is yet another amazing song that deserves better. It's so sweet and nearly always brings me to tears. Hearing Avril sing how she will always be there, that she meant it when she said "forever". It's just so... π I kind of have my problems with "Let Me Go". It's definitely a good song, but it just sounds more like a Nickelback leftover to me than an Avril song. And I absolutely hate Chad's vocals, his voice is so scratchy, I really can't stand it. Also, the lyrics - I mean, they're good, but quite unrelatable to me. On the other hand, Avril's voice is wonderful, the piano is really great, and I really love this whole mysterious, dramatic, wintery mood. "Adia" is fantastic. Amazing vocal performance, amazing instruments. Also deserves to be higher. "How Does It Feel" is so unpopular, and I kinda get it. The lyrics aren't very good and the chorus is quite repetitive. But WYWH has exactly the same issues, even more so imo, yet it's totally popular. THAT's what I don't get. Anyway, I absolutely love HDIF, it's so emotional, especially the powerful bridge - nearly always makes me cry. Oh, and the guitars with all those palm mutes - pure perfection. This song definitely deserves much better and definitely did not deserve to drop 12 fucking spots, wth?! "Naked" is another great, emotional song, but I wish the outro-chorus/outro wasn't so long. Once that part kicks in, there's not much new happening. That's the only complaint I have about this song, though.

"Too Much To Ask" has great lyrics, a fantastic melody, and is very emotional. It's currently not one of my favourite songs, though, but close to it. It deserves better. I can't believe it got a lower rating than cheesy, boring, lamely produced "I Love You". Never managed to like that song much. It's a lot better live.
"I Don't Give" is one of my favourite songs. Idk, I just really, really enjoy it.
"Mobile" is perfect for car rides. A good song, but it's also kind of filler-ish to me.
"Why" is so overrated. I used to dislike it more than I do now. By now I can actually appreciate the emotion and it being so raw - just Avril's vocals and acoustic guitars. But imo it kinda drags on and I just can't really relate to it. Dunno, overall just okay to me.
"Nobody's Fool" is one of my personal #1 songs. The lyrics are so empowering, the melody is so cool, with those palm mutes and slides in the verses, then the "la la la la la la la", the backing vocals. I even really like that rap/sprechgesang, it totally fits to the song and doesn't sound forced to me at all. In addition to that, the song has helped me through one of the hardest times in my life, so obviously it will always have a very special place in my heart. π€
"Best Years of Our Lives" is probably Avril's best collaboration/feat. She sounds fantastic on it and the song itself is very good, too.
"Rock N Roll" is such a guilty pleasure to me. I'm aware of the lyrics that make no sense, the kinda forced mf princess thing again and the imo even more forced reference to "Bad Reputation". The melody is always the same, it's overproduced (though in this case it kind of fits), and it simply totally fails being rock 'n' roll. I used to love the guitar solo and not understand what people had against it, but then I started listening to actual rock music, and I get it now. The solo in RnR is kind of ... weird or something. But despite all those flaws, I really enjoy it a lot most of the time. I guess it's because the song doesn't take itself serious at all. It's just fun and loud and in your face. Totally dumb, but in the best way. π
"I Can Do Better" has some really cool aggression, but all these high notes in the chorus get a bit overwhelming after a while, and once the bridge kicks in the song starts dragging on. Somehow it just feels too long to me. Kinda funny, I used to absolutely love this song...
"Goodbye" seems kinda boring in one way, but Avril really, really nails the emotion. Her vocal performance is just so emotional, I can't possibly end up not liking the song. But it's not one of my favourites, so I'm okay with it being #50, I guess.

My Pottermore results: Hogwarts House (took that test twice, same result both times): Ravenclaw Ilvermorny House: Wampus (if I remember correctly) Patronus: basset hound Wand (took that test twice, too): sycamore, phoenix feather core, 10 3/4 inches, surprisingly swishy (1st wand) // cedar wood, phoenix feather core, 12 1/4 inches, quite bendy flexibility (2nd wand)

I just browsed the old Waiting For AL6 thread (you know, the one with over 1,000 pages) and found an old post of mine where I wrote something like "at least we know for sure we'll get the album before 2018."

Wow, this is so far from my personal rating. I don't like EBBY at all, sounds like a childish, chaotic pop-punk song to me. Those interludes, ugh, no thanks. I only really like the aggression and some of the lyrics, even though I can't relate to them. "4 Real" is one of the most boring songs Avril's ever released. Like, it's not necessarily bad, it's just boring. "My World" has never really been my cup of tea either. I'm not even sure why, maybe it's simply the melody or those autobiographical lyrics which I can't really relate to. Dunno, I just never managed to really connect with this song. "Bad Reputation" used to be one of my favourite songs, but by now I'm quite sick of it. It seems so repetitive somehow. And the fact that it was a bonus track for GL and AL and already existed during TBDT era didn't help. Avril really nailed that cover, though. "17" is totally overrated imo. Even if it wasn't so badly produced and autotuned, I think it just tries too hard to be this sweet, nostalgic song. It also sounds kinda childish, cheesy, and clichΓ© to me. And I can't connect to it at all. I guess I'm not a very nostalgic person in general, and 17 wasn't really a good year for me, I definitely would not want to go back there. "Alone" is one of my all-time favourite songs, it's so well produced and the aggression and fun, that's just such a joy to listen to. And the drums in the last chorus, ugh, so powerful, absolutely fantastic! This song deserves so much better.

I mentioned it before, "Imagine" is probably Avril's worst vocal performance ever, worse than "O' Holy Night" (I think the latter is a live recording anyway, isn't it? So she didn't have any second or third chance to record it?). I would've put "Imagine" somewhere around #90. I know lots of people don't like IDHTT. I guess it's the weird intro, the bratty lyrics, and the rather unmelodical bridge with those screams? But I really like the song most of the time. This year, I actually enjoyed it so much I gave it 10/10. I absolutely love the aggression and the powerful chorus with those backing vocals "don't have to, don't have [...] to make you, to make you" and then the emphases on the "anything I wanna DO, anything I'm gonna DO". And the pre-chorus with those squeaky vocals, especially on the "thinking" . The bridge is a bit of a "hm wtf" for me, 'cause it's instrumentally too unmelodical for my taste, but Avril's scream is WOW! Like, she could actually make hardcore music with lots of screams, her voice can be so incredibly powerful and aggressive. Overall IDHTT has one of Avril's best vocal performances imo. It's just such a fun song to listen to, definitely one of the best songs off TBDT. "Wings Clipped" is kind of a guilty pleasure or something to me. I really love the lyrics and Avril's voice sounds fantastic. The production is very modern. But then there's this totally messy instrumental chorus that makes my ears hurt. And everything after Avril's part is basically just the same thing again with that guy's vocals, and imo his vocals aren't nearly as strong as Avril's. It's these two things that bother me, 'cause if it wasn't for them, this song might be absolutely amazing. I used to love "Bad Girl", it was actually the song that got me into punk-rock and later theatrical post-hardcore music. But by now "Bad Girl" is just good imo. I still love this echoing soung, Avril's and Manson's vocals, and the creepy Halloween vibe. But the drums... ugh... You wanna make an aggressive rock song, please use decent drums, don't always play the same pattern. Like, where are the cymbals, the hi-hats, any little drum solos? :/

I always wonder if there are people who simply give every song 10/10? And is there any song at all that got not a single 10/10 vote? Is there any song that got not a single 1/10 vote? I'd really like to know, lol.

Nooo "You Never Satisfy Me" is so good, it deserves so much better It's definitely loads better than that school kid summer song "Bitchin' Summer" (great melody, but bad lyrics, glitches, too much autotuning). I love UMS and I find IAGWIW and "Take It" alright, but I don't love them. IAGWIW actually has great lyrics imo, or at least very relatable to me. I can be damn stubborn too, and then this song is 100% me. xD But the melody, idk, I just can't really get into it. Maybe it's too repetitive or sth, dunno. And after Avril peformed it at every damn concert for like 10 years or so, I got really annnoyed of it. That sadly ruined the song for me, at least for a while. I'm starting to recover... I love that "Take It" is about something completely different than all of Avril's other songs. But the melody is a bit too chaotic to me, that's definitely my biggest issue with the song. I used to love "One Of Those Girls" back when I was a kid, but over time it got kinda meh and by now I actually don't like it. They lyrics and topic are good and fun, but that's it. Melody is only okay, but Avril's voice is the main issue imo, it's so high-pitched, especially in the bridge. Probably her most high-pitched song.

I was just listening to TMIO on my phone, and then the first chorus started and Avril was like "Tell me it's oooveerr" and then my phone fell out of my pocket, ripping my headphones out of my ears. π€¦ββοΈ THAT'S NOT HOW AVRIL MEANT IT, STUPID PHONE!

I must be the only one in the world that actually likes Think About It lol. No, I like "Think About It" too. Well, I used to like it more than I do now, but still... I don't really get the hate. Yes, most of the lyrics suck, but the rhythm is great, isn't it? The song really has potential imo.

YASNY at #91? Wtf? It deserves better. "Get Over Me" should be, as I mentioned before, last place, but at least it's near to it. And HA! "Sippin' On Sunshine" gets what it deserves (well, average rating is still way too high, but whatever). "Baby It's Cold Outside" is another song that I really don't mind seeing on such a low place. Quite apart from the fact that I simply don't like the genre much, Avril sounds bored on it and she's kinda missing that flow you need for the genre. I remember listening to it for the first time and thinking "And she wants to make songs with jazz influence? Ughhhh". After that song I really didn't think Avril could manage that. I'm glad I was completely wrong. "Make Up" is imo actually quite nice, it deserves a higher spot. I would've added "Imagine" to #90 to #99. Great song, but Avril really didn't do it justice. It's one of her worst vocal performances ever.

"Hello Kitty" is last?! Okay, I gave it 1/10, it's definitely one of Avril's worst songs, but what about "Get Over Me"? THAT is imo the worst song ever! The autotuning, the cringey lyrics, the through and through generic melody. Ugh, I fucking hate that song. And "Sippin' On Sunshine" is worse than HK too imo. It's totally plastic and generic, I hate the summer theme ('cause I hate summer), and the lyrics are so dumb with this childish double entendre wtf. At least HK is fun and has these cool verses with those synths/electric guitars (?) and Avril's weird squeaky vocals. Also, I don't think "O Holy Night", "Once And For Real", and "Not The Only One" deserve such low places. The average rating is fine, higher than what I gave those songs. But imo they're all still better than some other songs (e.g. "Get Over Me" and "Sippin' On Sunshine"). Something else about "O Holy Night": when I listened to it just before this rating, I actually enjoyed it, despite its flaws, which is why I ended up giving it 6/10 (I'm still surprised about that). The melody is just really nice and I like Chantal's voice. The lyrics are much too religious for my taste, though, but overall still good. The only thing I really hate about the song is Avril's voice (sorry, Av). She sounds out of tune, unmelodical, and as though she's got a bad cold. Maybe she really had, idk. But either way, I really dislike her voice in this song. Her worst vocal performance to date.

Okay, the HK music video really is bad. The "dancing" is awfully cringey, half of the scenes don't make any sense, and Avril's weird facial expressions near the ending are simply embarrassing. But at least it's kinda fun, and I personally love those pastel colours in that candy shop. And at least we see Avril. Where is she in "Fly"? THAT is imo definitely the worst of all her music videos. Simply because in my eyes, it's a promo video for her foundation, not a music video. And it features so much sports (obviously, because Special Olympics), but that's a no-go for me, I fucking hate sports lol. Still, the average ratings for both music videos are higher than what I gave them, so....... I wonder what some people don't like about TBDT music video? The glitter and pink? The cheerleading? Or is it something else? I personally think it's very good, it's really fun and colourful and Avril's really passionate in it. She's just living in the moment, going crazy, having fun - always puts me into a good mood. "He Wasn't" is one of my favourite music videos. It's so much fun and so aggressive. I love how Avril smashes her guitar into the camera and into the wall. I love the food fight. I love that Avril and her bandmates play these BTS characters. I simply love everything about it, even the weird dancing.
I'm a bit surprised by HAW reaching 8.9. I thought a lot of people (including me) found it a bit too simple. I gave it 8/10 and would've put it in my top 20. There are just too many other music videos I like more. #3 WYG - what I hate about the video is how cheesy it is, and the product placement annoys me a bit too. But then there's this old man, oh he really touches my heart. Throughout the video I'm always like "no, get off the screen, everyone, I wanna see the old man." He's so incredibly sweet. This year, he alone was the reason I gave the video 10/10.
NH and MHE deserve to be #1 and #2. NH has always been one of my favourite music videos. Same with MHE.
