I‘m surprised at how many people here actually think that songs like Innocence, WYG, WYWH are boring and yet they are ranked pretty high.  Tbh I gave all of them a 10.  Anyone here enjoying them as much as I do? :3 |

I enjoy all of the top 10 a lot. Avril Lavigne is great making ballads, I think it is the best she does. I agree in general with all the top. Glad that It was in me, HAW, IFILWTD and Birdie are so high. The 4 are some of the better songs she has. A pity that Crush and Goddes are a little low, although I understand it. Love the album HAW except Love me insane and Bigger wow, that perfectly could have been replaced with Break it so good and In touch or some other better song I'm sure she will have hidden.

First time I tried to compare songs with each other and failed, that was to hard, so I gave 10 to every song that I like ( most of them ) Now for the second time, I carefully compared the songs, So far, I've only compared songs from Let Go album, (btw. I love all songs from this album) I compares songs from most favorite 1. to least favorite 13.; Highest rating 5, Lowest rating 1. And this is the result, Let go 1. Sk8er Boi 5 2. Losing Grip 5 3. Nobody's Fool 5 4. Anything But Ordinary 4,75 5. Mobile 4,5 6. Naked 4,5 7. Tomorrow 4,5 8. Complicated 4,5 9. My World 4,5 10. I'm With You 4,5 11. Too Much To Ask 4,25 12. Thing I'll Never Say 4,25 13. Unwanted 4 5 = excellent 4,75 = excellent minus (-5) 4,5 = between excellent and very good (4 / 5) 4,25 = very good plus (+4) 4 = very good (something like grades from elementary school) |

I love Too Much To Ask. I think it is highly underrated.
The lyrics are great and the sounding is timeless. It never feels dated to me.

It's easier to compare song a to song b from one era than it would be to compare a song from LG to a song from HAW and rank them. Maybe for that we would need the "Bogo" system for songs (lyrics, singing, music, etc.) and rank each part then compare. |

I've been thinking.. Well actually, I haven't been thinking, I just thought of it right when these results went public, but maybe it'd be interesting if people would rank songs based on lyrics and based on 'melody' separately. For example, I think Fall to Pieces has a gorgeous sound, especially chorus, but lyrics are a bit bland, Darlin' on the other hand has some interesting lyrics, but the sound can be a bit of an earful.

It is always difficult to rate Avril's songs (at least for me). This time I gave a lot of weight to the lyrics and what they represented for me.

This time I gave a lot of weight to the lyrics and what they represented for me.This whole thing is so subjective, so to one person it could be "yeah that's my jam" and to another it could be "that song really helped me get through___". It's really interesting to see the results, but also see why people ranked songs the way they did. |
