I am genuinely impressed that HAW song got so much recognition to earn the second spot. Even though people have liked it in general, based on their comments on the forum, I wouldn’t have expected it to go any higher than Top 20. And even though I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s her second best song, it is by far her best lead single and one of the better songs in her discography. So I am very pleased with that surprise!
The way the albums are ranked is exactly my order, even though I go back and forth between TBDT and HAW as 3rd best album. I just happen to find the second half of HAW boring af as a whole, even though I don’t dislike any song other than LMI (her worst song IMO).
I would’ve wanted IFILWTD video to be higher, since she had so much input and it was visually stunning like none other video of hers.

Pretty much everyone here is so respectful to each other no matter how much some of us disagree with our own rankings. And if someone has a problem with your own taste then thats their problem not yours.

Call me crazy but i think we should send the list to her. She needs to know what fans like and what not. Her top10 is filled with ballads or mid-tempo song and she insists in making upbeat funny songs which i'm not against them but i think she needs to move on from her TBDT or WTH era. Obviously fans prefer her dark side and her dramatic and serious side i guess, and she is SO good at it. Some disagrees in the top 10 but even get over it made the top 30, and that's not nostalgia, that's her true fans who knows the b-sides and voted for the song.
(yeah there was a time for the best damn thing, is just weird to me seeing her singing songs like girlfriend or sketer boi now, idk)

She wouldn’t read the list if you sent it to her and she’s going to continue playing what she feels like. And I for one wouldn’t want a whole album or show full of ballads anyway, that’s so boring. Maybe a lot of her fans like that kind of music from her but it doesn’t mean everyone does. Nor should she only stick to one style or sound of music.

A lot of hits back then sound outdated now. Music is always evolving. But nowadays I kinda feel difficult to connect with the trends. When I was younger I always said I would keep up with the "new things" just because I love music so much and I wanted to be always up to date but I find it hard to connect with today's music. Even on some ballads that everyone loves (because that's never out. A good ballad is always on the way on the charts) I feel they're made up to serve the purpose and not really felt. I guess that's why my spotify is a strange thing to everyone that I know because I just listen to underdogs that nobody knows of. 🤷🏻♂️ |

She already did that on HAW though. It's filled with mostly ballads, her now signature basic filler songs, and only one embarrassing upbeat song. Personally I do not want another ballad centric album. She's not Adele, she's Avril Lavigne. I love her ballads and I expect a few on each record. However, I want a balanced album with ballads and upbeat songs. Similar to how TBDT showcased both sides of her. Except this time it has mature lyrics and shows her sound evolution.

It would’ve been better if the scores had been more realistic. I know there must be something that’s pushing people not to rate any of her songs too low since she is their favorite artist, but that doesn’t mean her songs should all go above 7. I was very critical this time around. Some 2 and 4s, lots of 5 and 6s and very few 10s. I think it’s more realistic that way and would make this poll much more interesting as well. It’s somehow laughable that her lowest score (HK) is above 6. She clearly has a lot of songs that are 5 & below, tbh. Maybe next time we’ll have something more like it.

As much as I love the ballads and most of the top 10, songs like Bigger Wow, What The Hell, Smile and Souvenir give everything a fresh air. The upbeat songs are the reason that the ballads don’t get boring in some kind of way. It‘s like IFILWTD which I mentioned earlier. It‘s a great song but I wouldn’t want to stay in that state of mind forever. I need to be happy too from time to time.  (Yes, there are happy ballads but I also need songs to dance around like a stupid guy lol) |

Yeah her ballads are great, it's just I'm not in the mood to listen to them often. I appreciate it when she makes upbeat songs.

I also think one of the main things is that since her Crowd is so mixed - hardcore fans who wants the rares, and the nostalgia fans who dont want them, she really has to make sure the setlist is bulletproof. I still think she might switch it up for the Eu leg, since (my guess) I think there’s gonna be a majority huge fans there versus on the American shows most were there for the nostalgia (my feeling) |

Because whenever she talks in interviews she sounds so sure that people always want her classics and upbeat songs. TBH I don't think she really knows what the fans want. Like the social media polls where she's asked what song people wanted and she went with her choice in the end. She does what she thinks is cool and safe. Or in HAWs case she mentioned that she had a lot of ballads (Zach Sang interview) and that's why the HAW setlist was going to have some down moments.
