I don't think it necessarily means she scrapped the album. She's constantly writing, whether she's between eras or about to start a new one. So maybe music is done, she just isn't sure if she'll release it before or after the festivals tour. I think it's interesting she said "new music, then tour", so I'm guessing it will for sure be out before June.

This right here! Taylor Swift and most artists are always constanley writing. Doesn't mean she scrapped it, just means, shes writing music. I will say i am kidna disappointed we heard almost the same we've been hearing

I don't think it would be a good idea to drop the album release on a random interview. It'll get a proper announcement.
She did say 'album, then tour' so we're probably looking at first half of the year.

As far as having a bunch of rap songs and scrapping them we have no evidence of that. People just assumed stuff because of her brief assocation with Tyga. Even if there are some rap elements it's not like she hasn't worked with rappers before (Nicki Minaj, Blackbear) or done rap style verses (Nobody's Fool, Bitchin' Summer) and that might have been the extent of it, if even true

Weird she said “I don’t know when” - why not just say music next year? she doesn’t have to give specifics but “I don’t know when I’m releasing my own music” is an odd thing to say

Anyways, she definitely scrapped some songs. But not the whole album is scrapped. Let's hope they manage this era well, I hope she doesn't tour without new material out

It would be a waste not to have new music out by the festival tour. Festival shows boost streams across an artist's whole discography so it would be best to have something new out and capitalise. At this stage she probably has an idea but not an exact release date
