[ALBUM] AL8 Speculation Thread

its just not how it used to be. Pre-GL she did a lot of mini performances and played guitar just herself and Evan or another band dude or two. Now she doesn't do anything without the band. Not saying she doesn't play instruments (she tried to play the drums on LS) but it's rare and more minimal than it used to be. There's also many fans who claim they can't hear her play guitar on MHE Live. It's a different vibe.

I think she used it for devil and when you’re gone so twice. I feel like next tour this year she’ll do a little more I do agree with that

2006- got married and was working on TBDT
2007- released TBDT and did so much promotion remmeber girlfriend came out early early February
2008- Tbdtour
2009-2010 she was inactive but had a shit ton of label issues as well as divorce she did release Alice in this time tho
2011-2014, GL came out, tour, finished tour worked on next album married Chad Kroeger, released another album also had label issues and went on tour

Then when she got sick with Lyme disease everything changed.

She just isn’t that popular anymore and that’s ok. A lot of artists aren’t after a while Taylor swift is just an exception. And I’m ok with her not trying to be just do what she loves and let us love the music. She still clearly has a fan base . I mean Rihanna legit hasn’t put out music in so many years and she performed at a Super Bowl. So it not just Avril.

Yeah I’d argue in 2006 she was actually still quite active, just not in music. That was her “acting and modeling” era, she was dipping her toe into movies and did fashion spreads. She was also probably starting work on projects like Abbey Dawn and the fragrances, since they take years to make. She did also start work on TBDT that year shortly after getting married.

I think Avril is always relatively active and working on something behind the scenes, we just usually don’t know much about it until it’s done. Like for the longest time we had no clue she was working on the Sk8er Boi movie or a documentary. It’s probably why she doesn’t post much about it, not only to keep it secret until it’s done, but she’s putting all her time and energy into working on stuff instead of social media. I also think her problem is consistency. When the LS era started she was hugely active on TT and IG but I’m not sure I see her ramping it back up when AL8 comes out. I think she gets excited about something for a while and then gets bored of it. When she does the festival run I could see her putting up some reels or whatever of like “day in the life on tour” and things like that, but I otherwise don’t know if I see her being as active with it as she was during LS. She needs a professional to handle it if she’s serious about maintaining content output and engagement. Most celebrities hire a team to manage that aspect of their career.

I think it’s ok that she’s quiet right now and I’m not dying for her to update us. Of course I get excited every time I see she posts something and then it’s just a cooking story or an ad or something but I’m sure music updates and what not will come eventually. There will be plenty to discuss then. I’m enjoying the quiet before the chaos lol The year only just started, we literally have the entire year for her to be doing stuff.
